Articuno are one of the three legendary birds of the Kanto region. They are icy blue with long streamer-like tails, red eyes, and a white chest. Their beaks and legs are grayish-brown, and they have three dark blue feathers on their foreheads. Their large wings, which look like thin sheets of ice, can chill the moisture in the air around them, causing snow and even blizzards to form. Articuno are the most passive of the three legends. They are more effeminate in nature and typically dislike battling. They are said to appear to doomed travelers who get lost in icy regions, possibly as omens of death. Their calls are high and shrill with a slight echo.
